We affirm Jesus teaching that empowered by the Holy Spirit we are to bear witness to the Gospel, share the good news of Christ, and make disciples – both near and far. God has graciously included us in His plan of salvation, we are indeed a part of His story, and we look forward to the day when people of all nation, tongue, and tribe will worship together at the throne of Christ. We seek to be a people whose acts of mercy and grace bear witness to the love we have in Christ.
So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:6-8
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20
